Great place to stay and can organise an amazing safari at a sensible price
☺ This is a great place to stay if you are looking to do a safari in Udawalawe and/or vist the Elephant orphanage (I’d recommend doing both) Max is really knowledgeable and helpful and he organised a fantastic Safari for us (6 hours in the Park including breakfast) for a great price. This safari was one of our highlights of our two weeks in Sri Lanka. We ate both breakfast and evening meals and the food was delicious and plentiful. There are a few rooms here so there is a chance to meet others. It rained quite a bit while we were there but there are adequate communal under cover areas.

☺Max war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Er hat uns eine tolle und günstige Safari arrangiert und sehr viele hilfreiche Tipps gegeben.
Das Frühstück war sehr reichhaltig und lecker.
Das Grundstück ist zentrumsnah und doch ruhig gelegen. Es ist eine schöne Anlage, in der man gut entspannen kann. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist wirklich unschlagbar gut.
☹Leider waren die Doppelbetten in dem Viererzimmer sehr laut, sodass man nicht so gut schlafen konnte. Max versicherte aber, etwas daran ändern zu wollen.
Das Abendessen war für den Preis leider etwas wenig für uns.

☺Ein toller Gastgeber, sehr aufmerksam! Das Zimmer ist wirklich sehr gut, hoher Standard. Sowohl Frühstück und Abendessen als auch die Safari (toller, erfahrener Fahrer, kein weiterer Guide notwendig) waren top. Alles zu einem sehr guten Preis.

Max is the best!
Max made the whole experience easy and enjoyable! He was able to sort all of our transport from Ella, then to Galle the next day and even gave us a contact for the airport transport! Very handy man to know and great accomodation. Food was excellent rooms are comfortable and air conditioned. Safari was excellent

Exceptional accommodation - always happy
I had a great room with a terrace, a small bungalow. The room was clean and had everything you needed, even felt like you were taking an outdoor shower. Max is a wonderful host and fulfills every wish. The organization of the safari was great. The food was delicious. His mother cooked and it was excellent. In addition, Max is an excellent singer. He played his guitar and sang for us at dinner. I just loved it. Just ask Max, he likes it. I will definitely come again. Thank you Max for this great experience and everything Ich hatte ein super Zimmer mit Terrasse, einen kleinen Bungalow. Das Zimmer war sauber und es war alles da, was man braucht, sogar das Gefühl, man duscht im freien. Max ist ein wunderbarer Gastgeber und erfüllt einem jeden Wunsch. Die Organisation der Safari war super. Das Essen war super lecker. Seine Mutter hat gekocht und das ausgezeichnet. Dazu ist Max ein ausgezeichneter Sänger. Er hat uns zum Abendessen auf seiner Gitarre etwas vorgespielt und gesungen. Ich war einfach nur begeistert. Max einfach fragen, er macht das gern. Ich werde auf jeden Fall wieder kommen. Unterkunft mit Wow- Effekt
Eine Unterkunft mit wow-Effekt. Ein super schönes, komfortables Zimmer mit Terrasse. Die Ausstattung war super und Max war ein toller Gastgeber. Tolles Essen und toller Service. Ein Hotel, dass man auf jeden Fall besuchen sollte. Extra tipp :am besten gleich eine Safari bei Max buchen..... ein Traum. Danke lieber Max für alles!

Our stay at Max safari villa was wonderfull!! Max is so helpfull and kind, he arranged everything for us, even the beautifull safari tour. The food was so delicious. He prepared breakfast and dinner for us. We had amazing time! Thank you Max!

В соотношении цена/качество это наверное идеальный вариант. Можете смело верить всем отзывам о радушии хозяина, это реально так, Макс сделал просто всё и даже больше чтобы моё пребывание в его отеле было комфортным. Забрали от другого отеля, накормили, организовали прекрасное сафари за очень низкую цену (сравнивал еще с 4 местами). Место хорошее, в номере все работает, чисто, расположено удобно по отношению к парку. Если у вас есть какие-то сомнения по поводу выбора недорогого варианта, просто берите этот, не думая, сюда можно просто приехать, доверившись на 100%

Highly recommended
One of the best stays we had in our three weeks in Sri Lanka, was with Max. Max was very considerate and attentive. Whichever question we had, he was there to help. The best experiences we had were recommendations he gave us. Really good food. Nice, cozy and clean rooms. And also the Safari was amazing. He really took his time to give us the best photospots and experience. We saw a lot of tours wich were just driving around, showing places fast and driving to the next spot, not so with Max. So we are really happy we found him. Big recommendation!

Definately 'must be' in Udawalawe
This place is just perfect. The bungalows are clean, cosy and have everything you need to feel comfotable. Home-made food was delicious (the best we had in Sri Lanka). Max, the owner, is friendly and know how to host guests. He provide for us exellent safari, with very expierienced driver/guide. Max - thank you for your friendship, evening talk and your smile 🙂

Нас в буквальном смысле остановили на дороге и предложили показать отель. С самого начала мы отказались и поехали смотреть бунгало в джунглях, но увидев там паука размером с ладонь? мы вернулись посмотреть жилье у Макса Сафари. О да! Это было попадание в точку. Мы взяли уютный домик на ночь) хозяин накормил ужином, который приготовила его мама! Было очень вкусно! Рекомендую, Макс хороший человек)

Max est très arrangeant et a vite compris quel type de voyageur j’étais. Lui et ses parents ont été adorables avec moi pendant la période du nouvel an alors que l’hôtel était fermé. Le dîner ainsi que le petit déjeuner étaient vraiment délicieux, les meilleurs que j’ai pu manger au Sri Lanka. La chambre était parfaite (propre, climatisation, literie très confortable, bouilloire avec café ou thé etc..) Il a ses propres Jeep et m’a arrangé un très bon safari ? Foncez chez lui ????

Great place for safari
We really loved our experience here. The room was clean and spacious and the people nice. Especially the safari Max arranged for us was great: the guide didn't race around the park chasing elephants, but took his time to show us a plethora of animals and tried to keep a respectful distance to the animals. True 10/10 experience!

Geweldige plek. Max is super aardig en we hebben twee avonden heerlijk gegeten. Zijn moeder maakt beste verse curry van Sri Lanka!
We hebben een dag safari gedaan. We hadden alle tijd en konden langer bij de olifanten blijven staan. Deze zie je vooral in de ochtend en einde middag. In de middag hebben we geluncht bij een rivier. Krokodillen, waterbuffels, veel verschillende volgens en apen hebben wij ook gezien

What an amazing hotel. Max, the owner, is heartwarming and caring for his guests. The room was clean to the spot, the bathroom was amazingly big and clean too. Now listen to this: we've been in 13 hotels before Max Safari Villa and none of them had the amenities we got here. Each guest gets 2 towels, the shower is separated from the bathroom, there is an extra towel for your feet when you get out of the shower (if you've travelled Sri Lanka you will appreciate this small detail for real!) There is shower gel and shampoo for free. Hot water with good pressure is available.
The bed was comfy, AC working perfectly, a moskito net was in place and each room had an amazing patio outside. The whole design of the room was consistent and you could see and feel that somebody put a lot of thought into an amazing stay for his guests. Oh, and did I mention the mini fridge, electric kettle, tea & coffee and bottled water you got in the room?
Outstanding, truly outstanding. The price for value is incredible and the dinner and breakfast are too. Book here now, all your wishes will be fulfilled here.

We had a night recently with Max and the experience was excellent. From the comms prior to arriving, to his hospitality once we arrived, Max was on it. His staff were efficient and timely, facilities clean and great value for money. Recommend and would return if we return to Uduwalawe.
